A close cooperation was established since 1992 between the SCA, Supreme Council of Antiquities and IDSC, the
Cabinet Information and Decision Support Center aiming a documentation project of all monuments and
archaeological sites in Egypt. Specialists from both sides joined their mutual efforts and a group of
specialists in networks and information systems with archaeological researchers could achieve these goals:
Establishment of a preliminary inventory of·
monuments and sites referred to Islamic, Coptic and Jewish periods in Egypt
Establishment of an information system to·
these monuments and sites to facilitate the research, provision and retract of any information and the
printing of these information Establishment of a database for monuments·
referred to Islamic, Coptic and Jewish periods in Cairo governorate
Establishment of a detailed photographic·
file for the prementioned monuments Establishment of an Information Center in·
the Studies and Research Center of the SCA Provide a solid training for employees in·
the Studies and Research Center, SCA to facilitate their use of computers and relevant systems
Publish a Directory for monuments in Cairo· |
