Name: Hassan Abdel Wahab

Born in an educational atmosphere, he studied in El
Azhar.
Joined the Comité de la Conservation de l’Art Arabe in
1919 till the position of head ofIslamic
archaeological inspectors
During 40 years devoted in the service he had many
activities and discoveries, namely:
  El Moez Le Din Allah Mehrab
El Hussein Cenotaph
Mosaics of El Saleh Negm El Din Ayyub Dome
He also discovered numerous objects and Koran kept
in Egyptian Museums.
Have many publications and scientific researches,
Participated in various scientific conferences on
local and international levels

Date of Birth: 4th December 1903
Place of Birth: Alexandria

PhD in Arts, Bonn University 1934
High Studies Institute Diploma, Fouad 1st University,
1940
Experiences:
Assistant Curator, Museum of Islamic Arts, Cairo 1936,
was upgraded in various positions to become the Museum
Director, 1952
He reorganized the museum during that period,
published a guide in Arabic and English language and
provided 100 photos of the museum
He published the series of museum of Islamic Arts
Expert in Islamic Arts and Archaeology in Libya
1965-1967, he also taught during the same period
Islamic arts, participated in excavations held in
Sultan City where he discovered parts of the City and
few doors.
Two researches were published over the subject.
He organized regular exhibitions inside the museum and
some outside exhibitions.
He represented Egypt during international conferences
for Islamic Arts and Museology
He prepared the special index of Marvels of flowers in
era’s events, Ibn Eyas in six volumes republished in
1983-1984
The indexes were published in a large volume
considered one of the best references to Islamic
architecture and art in Egypt
The German Orientalists International Association
offered him the honorary membership in 1973
